Resume builder with no subscription — pay $1–$2, once

Most AI resume tools charge $15–$30 per month for a task you do five times a year. AdaptMyCV charges per CV: free build, $0.60 restyle, $2 AI tailoring. Top up when you need it, never auto-renew.

The hidden-renewal problem

Most AI resume tools follow the SaaS playbook: charge a monthly subscription, auto-renew it, hope you forget. The average user updates their CV maybe five times a year — twice during the active job search, then maybe three small tweaks for promotions or interviews. Paying $20–$30 a month for that is paying for the tool to sit idle 95% of the time.

Worse, the renewal works because cancelling is painful: you have to find the account settings, click through three warning screens, and sometimes do a customer-success retention call. By then it's easier to leave the subscription running. The math benefits the vendor, not you.

AdaptMyCV does the opposite. There's no recurring charge to begin with. You top up when you actually need a CV. If you don't top up for six months, your account just sits there unchanged.

What you actually pay for each action

  • Build a CV from scratch — free. Fill the form builder, pick a template, download the PDF. No coins required.
  • Restyle an existing PDF — 3 coins (≈ $0.60). AI parses your PDF into structured data and re-renders it in a clean ATS-friendly template.
  • Adapt to a specific job description — 10 coins (≈ $2). AI tailors your CV to the JD with an honesty check that prevents fabricated experience.

Top-ups come in three sizes: $5 (25 coins, 1:1), $10 (55 coins, 10% bonus), $20 (130 coins, 30% bonus). See the full pricing page.

Pay-per-use vs. monthly subscriptions

Rough math against a typical $20/month AI resume subscription:

Use patternAdaptMyCV costTypical subscription
Browsing, no Adapts$0$20
1 Adapt this month$2$20
5 Adapts this month$10$20
10 Adapts this month$20$20
15 Adapts this month$30$20

Break-even is around 10 Adapts/month. Most job seekers apply far below that, so pay-per-use wins. If you genuinely apply daily for months, an unlimited plan is the better deal — and AdaptMyCV isn't pretending otherwise.

What you don't pay for

  • The free CV builder is genuinely free — no trial, no “7 days free then $20/month.”
  • Template changes don't cost coins. Switch as many times as you want.
  • Editing a CV after it's generated doesn't cost coins. Only the AI Restyle and Adapt actions consume coins.
  • Re-rendering a PDF (e.g. after edits) doesn't cost coins.
  • Downloading is free — the download link is valid for 7 days after payment.

FAQ

Is AdaptMyCV really subscription-free?
Yes. There is no recurring charge on any plan. You top up your coin balance once (smallest pack is $5) and spend it as you create, restyle, or adapt CVs. No auto-renewal, no card-on-file billing.
How does the pay-per-CV pricing actually work?
Three tiers: building a CV from scratch is free (0 coins). Restyling an existing PDF into a clean template costs 3 coins (≈ $0.60). Tailoring your CV to a specific job description with AI costs 10 coins (≈ $2). 5 coins always equal $1 USD.
What if I want to cancel?
There's nothing to cancel — you never agreed to a recurring charge. If you want a refund on unused balance, email hello@adaptmycv.app within 24 hours of your top-up and we'll process it via Stripe.
What does the welcome bonus cover?
New accounts get 10 free coins on signup — enough for one full AI Adapt-to-JD run (10 coins). Or three Restyles (3×3 = 9 coins with 1 left over). No card required for the bonus.
When does pay-per-use beat unlimited?
When you tailor a CV fewer than 8 times a month. At 8 Adapts/month with AdaptMyCV you'd spend $16; typical AI resume subscriptions cost $15–$30/month for the same outcome. Most job-seekers apply in concentrated bursts (a week or two when actively searching), then go quiet for months. Pay-per-use matches that pattern.
