Business Analyst

Business Analyst CV example (2026)

A business analyst CV has to prove both halves of the job on one page: business bullets (requirements workshops, process redesign, stakeholder sign-off) and technical bullets (SQL, Power BI, BPMN) in roughly equal measure. Lead with a summary naming your domain (banking, logistics, e-commerce) since BA hiring is domain-sensitive. Each bullet should end in what the analysis changed — hours saved, errors reduced, a project unblocked — not in the deliverable itself.

What recruiters scan for in a Business Analyst CV

  • 1Both keyword sets present: requirements/process AND SQL/BI tools
  • 2Domain match: the industry you analysed in
  • 3Outcomes of analysis: cost saved, cycle time cut, adoption of the thing built
  • 4Certification signals: CBAP, PMI-PBA, agile credentials

Example Business Analyst CV

A condensed but realistic example — note how every bullet pairs an action with a number, and how tools and methods are named exactly. Details are fictional.

Business Analyst CV FAQ

Should a business analyst CV lean business or technical?

Mirror the JD's balance. If it lists SQL and BI tools, technical bullets go higher; if it's all stakeholders and process, lead there. The safe default is alternating — proof of both is exactly what defines the role.

How do I show impact when I don't build anything?

Claim the outcome of what was built to your spec: process time cut, defects caught in UAT, adoption rates, disputes avoided. A BA's product is decisions and clarity — quantify what they prevented or enabled.

Is CBAP worth putting on a CV before I've passed?

Yes, as '(in progress)' — it signals commitment and matches the keyword filter. Just be ready for the interview question about when you sit the exam.
